If you are personal friends with me on facebook, you saw me post these pictures yesterday, because of all the items I had to juggle, they were all taken by my phone. Forgive the terrible quality in some.
Yesterday, the Taff kids and I got on a plane and came to Georgia. My oldest has been on a plane, but he was too young to remember. I have flown often, but when the Taff crew goes on a vacation, we usually prefer a good old Road Trip. Not to mention when you have to buy plane tickets for 6 people, it is usually cheaper for us to drive. We also take far too much luggage to check on a plane.
So there we went. Total, we had 2 big checked bags, 3 carry on bags, 3 backpacks, 1 laptop bag, 1 Diaper Bag, and my big double stroller, 4 kids and 1 mom. It was probably quit humorous watching me push the stroller, keep the baby sitting down int he stroller, and pull 2 suitcases while carrying 2 bags on my shoulder. Yep, I am pretty sure someone somewhere probably laughed as they witnessed this!
Because it was a special day…. first time on a big plane. We had to have special outfits!
Marching through the airport to our gate, I kept barking orders…. telling the children to walk in single file line, oldest in front, and all in front of me so I could see them 100% of the time.
Our plane was delayed. By an hour and a half. Oh joy. Now to find something to do to keep the baby happy for an even longer time. Then, we board the plane and the pilot comes on saying we are having issues with 1 of the engines, so we need to sit even longer.
On the plane they all had WAY too much sugar. I let them each get a soda and a pack of candy at the newspaper shop in the airport. Even Blaze (the baby) got to fussy at one point, so I handed him a sucker. He turned blue like a smurf, but it kept him quiet for our trip.
The kids were so excited. I love watching their face light up with joy and excitement. Cherish making memories with your little ones while you can.
