In 2 weeks, it will be Christmas! While we love our Elf on the Shelf, and fully get into Santa and North Pole Magic, I keep the true meaning of Christmas in our lives as well.
This is a repost from last year, but with M&M’s being on sale at many locations, I had to repost it, because they are so easy, cute, and delish!
Sorry about the Craptastic pictures, my real camera is broken, being repaired, so these are from my phone!
What you will need:
Wax Paper
Square Pretzels
Peppermint Kisses
M&M candies
- Line a cookie sheet with wax paper.
- Place Square Pretzels along the cookie sheet
- Put Peppermint kiss on top ( try to center as best as possible)
- Bake at 200 for 5 minutes * watching closely. You do NOT want the kiss to melt, but rather just get soft still in it’s Hershey Kiss form*
Take out of oven and push a M&M in center ( remember to have the M printed side up!)
I am putting a handful of these into Cellphane bags, tying them up with ribbon and attaching this M&M Nativity Poem:
As you hold these candies in your hand and turn them, you will see the M becomes a W, an E, and a 3.
They tell the Christmas Story; It’s one I’m sure you’ll know. It took place in a stable A long, long time ago.
“E” is for the East Where the star shone so bright.
“M” is for the manger Where Baby Jesus slept that night.
“3″ is for the Wise men bearing gifts; With haste they quickly came.
“W” is for worship; Angels sang praise to His name.
So as you eat these candies Or share them with a friend,
Remember the true spirit of Christmas and never let it end!
They turned out very cute! I can not take credit for this poem, or the candies, I have seen them both before, but can not remember where to give credit. However, they must be good, because I made a batch, counted them, and while I was printing my tags with the poem, (making sure I had just enough) my husband cam in and ate 11 ….seriously, 11! When I went to bagging, I realized some where missing and asked him who replied, ” Oh, those things, yeah, I ate a bunch, sorry, they were good!” haha! Guess that gives me an excuse to just have to make more!
