Staycation Locations for New Jersey

Yesterday I showed you our Summer Bucket List, today I have a few more items to add to that summer to do list. If you are having a staycation, these are places that should be on that list for New Jersey, most are FREE and Cheap!

Holcombe Jimison Farmstead -  Located in Lambertville NJ. History comes to life with Civil War reenactments, Print Shops, 1711 House, Woodworking shop, Dairy Exhibits, and more! Admission is $5. Kids 5 & Under free.

Field Station Dinosaurs—Where Jurassic park comes to life! This museum has 36 animatronic life sized dinos that come to life.  Families can also enjoy the 3D theatre and fossil digging.

Turtle Back Zoo -  $11 for adults, and $8 for kids, this is a perfect family sized zoo. The zoo has a train and carousel. You can pet stingrays and see animals from penguins to bears!

Battleship New Jersey -  Located in Camden, America’s most decorated ship is open for tours.

Howell Living History Farm – Is FREE and open year round! Programs interpret farm life from the 1800—1910.

Discovery Seashell Museum -  See over 10,000 unique seashells and coral. Admission is FREE and tours are self guided.

PopCorn Park Zoo – Only $5 for adults and $4 for kids, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The MINT - Just outside of New Jersey, located in Philadelphia is the Nation’s MINT. Tours are self guided and FREE. See how coins are made! When unrolled, they are the length of 5 football fields.

Fort Lee Historic Park – A stop at the Fort Lee Historic Park and Visitor Center is an excellent way to learn about the vital role Fort Lee played during the American Revolution. Step back into time as you walk down a historic trail and see canons, wood sheds, and an old wood burner, see how George Washington lead us to Victory in 1776!

Sea Grit Lighthouse
-Built in 1889, and used in the World Wars to scan for enemy ships, this attraction is now FREE to visit.

Cape May Zoo – See all 500 critters this Zoo has to offer, best part…admission is FREE! Open 7 days a week except Christmas.

What is a staycation? It is staying at home while doing activities just as if you are on a vacation. Save money by staying at your own home, but still have fun getting out with an itinerary!
